Finance Assistant | High Growth Food & Beverage Brand | Birmingham / Hybrid
Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing food & beverage brand with a strong digital presence and an engaged international customer base. Since launching, the business has experienced exceptional growth, expanding operations across multiple international markets while building a highly recognisable consumer brand.
With ambitious expansion plans and continued investment across operations, systems, and infrastructure, the company is now looking to strengthen its finance function with the addition of a Finance Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth environment where you will gain broad exposure across finance while playing a key role in supporting the next phase of growth.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a fast-paced ecommerce business. Reporting into the wider finance team, you will support core transactional finance processes, month-end activities, and process improvements across the business.
The company operates internationally across the UK, Europe, and the US, offering excellent exposure to a multi-entity and rapidly scaling environment. You will work closely with various teams across the business, helping to improve controls, maintain accurate reporting, and support the finance function as the business continues to grow.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of their work, and is excited by the opportunity to grow within a dynamic scale-up business.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with maintaining the purchase ledger and processing supplier invoices
* Prepare weekly payment runs for approval
* Support the preparation of VAT returns and reconciliations
* Assist with month-end processes and year-end audit support
* Ensure carriage and duty costs relating to stock are complete and accurately recorded
* Perform supplier invoice accuracy checks and resolve discrepancies
* Support ongoing finance process and control improvements
* Assist with payroll administration and preparation of payroll changes for approval
* Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required
What we need to see:
* Previous experience within a finance or accounts role
* Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
What we’d like to see:
* AAT part qualified or actively studying toward ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
* 2+ years’ experience within a finance role
* Proficient knowledge of payroll processes
* Experience within ecommerce, retail, consumer, or high-growth environments
The Offer
Salary: 30,000-34,000 + benefits
