Finance Manager (12-Month Maternity Cover) - Bristol Core3 are delighted to be partnering with a growing business to recruit a Finance Manager for a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the finance function in a fast-paced and ambitious organisation with a strong presence across Bristol and the South West. This role suits someone who enjoys working hands-on within a growing SME, bringing structure, insight, and ownership to the finance operations. How you'll make an impact As Finance Manager, you'll oversee all core financial processes, from bookkeeping and payroll through to management accounts and VAT returns. You'll ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, support the leadership team with commercial insight, and help maintain a strong control environment as the business scales. Key responsibilities include: Managing the full finance function, including bookkeeping, payroll, and cash management Producing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and commentary for discussion with leadership Running payroll processes including PAYE, pensions, and NEST submissions Overseeing bank reconciliations and processing staff expenses Preparing quarterly VAT returns and liaising with HMRC as required Supporting with annual budgeting and financial forecasting Managing supplier payments, invoices, and reconciliations Providing financial insight to support decision-making and business growth Working closely with external accountants during year-end and audit processes Why our client is excited about you You're a confident, hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment.
