About The Role
We are seeking a technically strong and ambitious individual ready to step into a leadership role as a Technical Operational Support Manager. This position is ideal for someone transitioning from a hands‑on engineering background into management, with a strong emphasis on electrically biased expertise.
Supporting operations in Oxford, you will work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of high‑quality services that meet both client and company expectations.
You will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, supporting engineering teams, and ensuring consistency of service delivery.
Package & Benefits

Salary: up to £55,000 depending on experience
Hours: 41.25 hours a week

Responsibilities
Operations & Technical Support
- Provide hands‑on technical support with a focus on electrical systems, reactive maintenance, and PPM delivery
- Support the development of RAMS for higher‑risk electrical and M&E works
- Assist in producing, reviewing, and submitting quotations in line with client and company standards
- Support management of WIP, aged debt, and operational reporting when required
- Act as Site Authorised Person (electrical) where applicable
Service Delivery
- Ensure consistent service delivery and operational alignment across the site
- Conduct regular site walk‑arounds, audits, and compliance checks
- Monitor performance against KPIs and SLAs
- Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring safe systems of work and high‑quality output
Team Leadership & Communication
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership support and act as a key contact in the absence of the Contracts Manager
- Support team coordination including shift patterns, resourcing, and leave planning
- Deliver reports and attend client and site meetings as required
- Maintain strong communication within the team to ensure consistent service output
Health & Safety
- Promote a safety‑first culture, particularly around electrical compliance
- Ensure adherence to PPE, safe systems of work, and reporting of near misses
- Actively identify and elevate any health and safety concerns
Systems & Quality
- Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance tasks are completed on time with accurate reporting
- Carry out regular quality assurance checks and maintain high operational standards
- Ensure plant rooms, workshops, and working areas are maintained to a high standard
Stock & Asset Control
- Oversee critical electrical and M&E spares and ensure effective stock control
- Maintain organised and compliant storage areas
What We Are Looking For
Skills & Experience
- Strong electrical engineering background with hands‑on experience
- Previous experience in a senior engineering or supervisory role
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support teams
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience managing operational data, reports, and budgets
- Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Confident IT user with experience of CAFM systems
Qualifications
- Relevant electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- IOSH Managing Safely (minimum)
- Additional M&E qualifications advantageous
