We’re working with schools in South Bristol who are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant. This role is all about bringing consistency, patience, and a calm presence into the classroom, supporting pupils who need a little extra help to feel settled and ready to learn.

What Your Day Will Look Like
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Helping children manage emotions and re-engage with learning
* Using calm, effective de-escalation strategies
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
* Encouraging positive behaviour and recognising every step of progress
This role goes beyond behaviour. It’s about building trust, confidence, and giving pupils the tools they need to succeed.

What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting children or young people, particularly with SEMH needs
* A calm, patient, and understanding approach
* Confidence setting boundaries while building strong relationships
* Someone reliable, proactive, and team-focused
* A genuine belief that every child can improve and succeed
Experience with ADHD, ASD, or trauma-informed approaches is a bonus, but not essential.

What We Need To Clear You
* Right to work in the UK
* Two proofs of address
* A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained
* Two years of references, including SEN or childcare where possible
* An overseas police check if you’ve lived abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
