Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Clinical Oncology colleague to join our existing colorectal practice. The post-holder will provide oncological treatments (both radiotherapy and systemic treatments) for patients diagnosed with:
* Colorectal cancers (Isle of Wight)
* A second tumour subspeciality (Portsmouth)
Responsibilities
* Join a team of 3 Clinical Oncologists and 2 Medical Oncologists providing colorectal services to the Portsmouth, West Sussex and Isle of Wight populations.
* The colorectal Isle of Wight practice currently has its own MDT, with the expectation to merge with the PHU MDT in the near future. Clinics and chemotherapy for this group of patients are delivered on the Isle of Wight, whilst radiotherapy is delivered at PHU. There is a nurse prescriber and good CNS support on the island.
* This is a 10 PA post, with the colorectal practice being combined with a second tumour subspeciality based at Portsmouth. Possible site special interests include head and neck cancer, breast cancer and upper GI cancer. Candidates wishing to work fewer PAs are welcome to discuss requirements. Other site specialty interests could be accommodated; candidates are encouraged to discuss preferences.
* Approximate new referrals would be approximately 80-100 per year for each practice, totalling no more than 160-200 referrals per year.
* A 10 PA post is based on 8 PAs DCC and 2 PAs SPA.
