Pupil Support Officer – St Crispin's School.
Location & Facilities
St Crispin's is a special school for primary and secondary age pupils meeting the needs of learners with complex, long‑term additional support needs. The school focuses on intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders, with a maximum of 6 learners per class. We moved into our new building in Burdiehouse in early 2022 and provide 12 classrooms, Art, Music, Home Economics classrooms, a PE hall, a swimming pool and sensory and soft-play rooms.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a class team together with the class teacher to support each learner to reach their full potential.
* Take increased responsibility within the team by supporting the teacher in leading small group sessions and individualising interventions for pupils.
Qualifications & Experience
It is desirable that applicants have experience working with children with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Salary & Hours
Salary: £30,188‑£34,452 (pro‑rata for part‑time/sessional). Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional.
Eligibility & Pre‑employment Checks
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required. Unconditional offer and commencement are subject to satisfactory completion of these checks.
