It is Grade I Listed and rated of international significance. Set near Stroud in a remote parkland of woods and pastures owned by the National Trust, it is also home to colonies of rare bats. The Mansion and Park are both part of a SSSI The long-term aim is to safeguard the Mansion by completing its restoration and to find ways of joining up the experience of visiting the Park and the Mansion as a viable, unique, attraction for generations to enjoy. As Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering a fascinating and diverse range of outputs, working with a new events officer, members of the partnership and consultants.Although the grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and co-funding from Stroud District Council is substantial, it is predicated on significant elements being undertaken expertly, but at no cost to the project, by members of the partnership, under your management. For example, the staff and trustees of Woodchester Mansion will provide you with cost management and reporting services; key know how in construction conservation, bat ecology, business and major project planning; while expert advice and templates will be available from the National Trust and Stroud District Council on the Park, audience engagement/outreach; and experience in working with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Also, inputs to many deliverables are already the subjects of recent and available reports (for you to review, update or refocus). As Project Manager your principal duties will include:• Understanding the project scope and outcomes to be delivered under the terms of The National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant and the inputs and outputs required from partnership members and consultants. • Programming, coordinating and managing the overall 12-month work schedule, reporting to the partnership’s project board and liaising with consultants, trustees, staff, the new events officer, other contributors and stakeholders. • Liaising with The National Lottery Heritage Fund including overseeing inputs to, and collation of, periodic progress reports and main submissions. • Engaging and directing consultants to deliver advice/studies on legal agreements for governance and partnership matters; and to inform your finance and fundraising plans for a future major capital project; • Preparing (or managing others’ inputs to) an access audit, a skills audit; a governance plan; a business plan; a market analysis and an audience development plan; • If required, inputting to the scoping, appointment and management of contractors for two small capital fit-out projects and on the future major capital project proposal. .• Coordinating and working with others, to prepare a costed plan and timeline for a future major capital project, evidenced by options and risks analyses, to inform a Round 1 application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and approaches to other potential funders. (Note: an up-to-date costed condition survey and conservation management plan will be available).
