The Role
Reporting to the Site Technical Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the site meets all legal, customer, and company food safety and quality standards. You will support technical leadership across the site, working closely with production, NPD, and quality teams to maintain compliance, drive improvements, and meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of the site technical strategy in line with business objectives and KPIs.
* Manage and maintain HACCP, quality management systems (QMS), and associated documentation to ensure compliance with BRCGS, legal, and customer standards.
* Oversee internal audit schedules and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
* Act as a technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, and auditors during site visits and inspections.
* Support NPD and product launches, ensuring all technical requirements are met.
* Lead and develop the QA team to ensure high performance and engagement.
* Investigate customer complaints and implement effective root cause analysis and preventative measures.
* Monitor key quality and food safety KPIs, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Food Safety Level 4.
* Previous experience in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of HACCP, QMS, BRCGS, and food safety legislation.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience in leading or coaching a small team is desirable.
* Food science, food technology, or related qualification preferred.
* Competitive salary of circa £40,000 per annum.
