Job Role Male PA/Carer to support 18 yr old to live safely and independently in Salford PT-SC-001.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person with building independence, confidence, and life skills.
The role includes regular support with activities and responsibilities such as:
* Attending an LGBT group (Monday evenings)
* Visiting Youth Zone (Sundays)
* Participating in social activities such as swimming and mini golf (midweek)
* Providing calm, supportive responses during daily non-epileptic seizures, ensuring safety
Roles and Responsibilities
* Supporting safety in the home and community
* Encouraging independence and decision‑making
* Assisting with meal preparation
* Supporting access to social and leisure activities
* Helping develop money management skills
* Promoting independent living skills, e.g., ordering food, travelling safely
* Supporting communication and social interaction
* Providing reassurance and support during seizures
Specific Requirements
* Male, caring, patient, dependable, and an ally to LGBT groups
* Able to promote independence while maintaining safety
* Good communicator with a positive, friendly attitude
* Understanding of mental health and sensory needs
* Full UK driving licence / own car (mobility vehicle available if required)
* Confident swimmer able to cover at least 25 metres and stay within arm’s reach during seizures
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience supporting autistic individuals and/or Tourette’s syndrome
* Experience supporting individuals with seizures
Required Training
* Experience of supporting an autistic individual who has Tourette’s syndrome (preferred but not essential)
* Experience with Mental Health support
