About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant in the Respiratory Service, youll play an essential role in supporting nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, personcentred care. Your work will include assisting with patient comfort, supporting clinical activities (once trained and delegated), maintaining equipment, and completing administrative or clerical tasks that keep the ward functioning smoothly.
You will treat all patients with dignity, respect and compassion, actively uphold patient privacy, and contribute to a positive team culture. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with people, thrives in a busy environment, and is motivated to learn and grow within the healthcare setting.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Based in the Medical/Respiratory Ward at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital, youll work alongside an experienced nursing team, allied health staff, medical staff and administration colleagues. Youll be part of a collaborative, supportive environment where highquality patient care and whanaungatanga are key.

About you
You are caring, reliable and committed to supporting both patients and colleagues. You will have:
* NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance, or currently be enrolled and working toward it, or willing to commence within six months.
* Respectful, patientcentred communication skills.
* Ability to work well within a team and build positive relationships.
* Good organisational skills and reliability.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
* Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and delivering equitable, culturally safe care.
* Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
