Job Description: Food Service Assistant
Location: Clackmannanshire
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £12.69 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week
We are a private co-educational day and boarding school in Dollar, Scotland, catering to 550 students and teachers daily. The role involves providing meals and hospitality services during term-time, working 39 weeks a year, including some ad hoc events. Free on-site parking is available.
We seek a motivated Food Service Assistant to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Clackmannanshire.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare food following hygiene and safety standards.
* Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area.
* Handle food, beverages, and equipment for special functions.
* Restock supplies during service to ensure smooth operation.
* Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment, and store equipment properly.
* Perform cleaning and hygiene duties as required.
* Interact professionally with customers and staff.
Additional duties include:
* Attend staff meetings and adhere to policies and procedures.
* Wear a clean, appropriate uniform.
* Conduct food temperature checks.
* Follow management requests and report hazards.
* Demonstrate teamwork, good communication, personal hygiene, and flexibility.
Requirements:
* Experience in a busy kitchen and customer service (preferred).
* Enjoy working with fresh food and supporting food prep.
* Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility.
* Able to lift and carry moderately heavy items.
* Good verbal and written English skills.
* Food hygiene certificate preferred.
