Mediplacements are recruiting for an experienced band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry for a locum role with our client located in Buckinghamshire. The pay for this position is £28 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration. Responsibilities: - Perform laboratory tests, including routine and specialized tests in the Biochemistry Department - Monitor and maintain quality control standards - Interpret results accurately and provide reports to medical staff - Maintain accurate records of tests performed, results obtained and equipment used - Troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments The successful candidate must be HCPC registered and have experience in Biochemistry. Job Description: As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Clinical Biochemistry, you will be responsible for processing laboratory tests on patient samples across one of four sub-sections of the laboratory on a rotational basis. Applicants must hold HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist and possess strong knowledge in Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology. Ideally, you will also have experience in personnel management. The department is well-equipped with modern, standardised analysers, including Architect, Tosoh, Osmo 1 (Advanced Instruments), Chlorochek, HM-JACK, UVikon in Biochemistry, and Helena V8 in Immunology. You will be expected to work cross-discipline following appropriate training and will be required to participate in the out-of-hours shift rota. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work at both Hospitals in line with service needs.
