About Us An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our neighbourhood model across Middlesbrough. As a result, x 4 Neighbourhood Link Worker posts have been created to work within key statutory, voluntary, community partner organisations and businesses to break down barriers with their service users and in particular work to reduce the resistance of some service users to contact the council. To be successful in this role you need excellent communication skills and have experience of working with key stake holders and vulnerable adults and children and hold a full clean driving licence, have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently using your own initiative, have exceptional communication skills, and be passionate about making a difference to the lives of Middlesbrough residents and have the personal skills to carry this out. You will have a responsibility for: Being Link workers that will embed the role within partner organisations including but not limited to Hospitals, GP practices and schools to alleviate pressure on their services. Develop collaborative approaches with partner agencies that address the underlying causes of community problems. Understand current service user needs and referral pathways within partner organisations and co-design and implement a streamlined approach to reduce barriers and increase service user referral to and uptake of council services. Establish joined-up access to services, build community capacity, and support self-help initiatives, with a strong emphasis on early intervention and prevention.
