At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, Somerset.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services, ensuring the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s rooms.
The role
As a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping, you’ll lead and manage the team, implement best practices, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements.
Your responsibilities include delivering Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks, supporting the MEH Alliance programme, and demonstrating strong HSE leadership to foster a compliant HS&E culture throughout the project lifecycle.
* Drive Digital Enablement for Construction Progress: Lead the implementation of the Procon system to support efficient workflows and real-time progress reporting.
* Ensure Compliance and Readiness for Site Activities: Manage interfaces with NNB’s Work Authorization and Permit systems to ensure full compliance.
* Coordinate Safe and Strategic Site Access: Oversee planning of safe access routes to workfaces.
* Support Precision Through Surveying and Data: Facilitate surveys to provide accurate construction data.
* Own Documentation for Construction Milestones: Ensure all documentation is accurate and aligned with project plans.
This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.
Essential experience
* Proven Experience on Major Construction Projects: Success working on large-scale, regulated infrastructure projects with expertise in Safe Systems of Work.
* Established Engineering Capability: Operated effectively at Engineer or Senior Engineer level within multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
* HNC qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience in Mechanical and Piping systems.
* Must hold a CCSNSG certificate or pass CITB HS&E test prior to starting.
