Alba Medical Group is seeking an exceptional and highly experienced Lead Practice Nurse to join our expanding multidisciplinary primary care team within Lanarkshire.
Based primarily at Greenhills Health Centre, East Kilbride, the successful candidate will also support multisite working across our Lanarkshire practices where required.
This is a senior clinical leadership role suited to an experienced and motivated nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care, leading clinical standards, mentoring colleagues, and helping shape the future of nursing services within a progressive and rapidly developing GP group.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within the nursing team, combining advanced clinical practice with mentorship, service development, and operational support.
You will lead by example in delivering high-quality nursing care and will be expected to independently manage a range of clinical clinics and long-term condition reviews while supporting the development and training of junior nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Practice Nurse looking to progress into a senior leadership role within a large and forward-thinking primary care organisation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead and support the delivery of high-quality nursing services across Lanarkshire practices
* Independently run clinical and chronic disease management clinics
* Deliver evidence-based care for patients with long-term conditions
* Support and mentor nursing staff, healthcare assistants, and trainee clinicians
* Assist with clinical supervision, training, and workforce development
* Promote and maintain high clinical standards, governance, and patient safety
* Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and service development projects
* Undertake cervical screening, vaccinations, health promotion, and preventative care clinics where appropriate
* Work collaboratively with GPs, pharmacists, ANPs, and the wider multidisciplinary team
* Support operational flexibility and multisite clinical cover where required
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
* Significant experience working within General Practice or Primary Care
* Extensive experience in Chronic Disease Management
* Strong clinical knowledge and autonomous working capability
* Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
* Ability to support and develop junior staff within a multidisciplinary environment
* Flexible and adaptable approach to multisite working
* Commitment to high standards of patient-centred care
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in leadership or senior nursing roles
* Experience in training, mentorship, or clinical supervision
* Experience using GP clinical systems
* Involvement in quality improvement, audit, or service redesign initiatives
