RTK Group delivers end-to-end IT lifecycle, sustainability-led asset services, and complex multi-site deployment projects for global enterprise clients.
We are seeking a motivated and organised Technical Operations Team Leader to support the delivery of UK and international projects, oversee warehouse and asset operations, and provide guidance to Operations Technicians. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical ability, hands-on experience in IT hardware and logistics, and the leadership skills to inspire and direct a growing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Team Oversight
* Lead a small team of technicians across warehouse, onsite, and field-based projects.
* Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure quality standards are consistently met.
* Provide training, coaching, and day-to-day support to junior staff.
* Act as the first escalation point for operational issues, reporting to the Operations Manager when necessary.
Field / Onsite Projects
* Supervise and participate in de-commissioning, removal, packing, and transport of IT equipment from client sites (UK & international travel required).
* Lead installation and relocation projects, ensuring safe, professional delivery.
* Maintain strong customer relationships and represent RTK professionally at all times.
Warehouse & Asset Processing
* Oversee the receipt, grading, preparation, and dispatch of IT assets.
* Ensure warehouse operations (stock management, housekeeping, packaging, data destruction) run efficiently.
* Drive continuous improvements in processes and safety standards.
Technical Testing & Refurbishment
* Supervise testing, troubleshooting, and basic repairs of laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
* Ensure accurate recording of asset condition, diagnostics, and refurbishment outcomes.
* Support specialist workstreams (data erasure, imaging, part harvesting) as needed.
Systems, Data & Reporting
* Ensure all project and asset management systems are updated accurately by the team.
* Generate and review reports on stock, project movements, and KPIs.
* Support commercial teams with timely and accurate information.
Customer & Internal Communication
* Provide clear and proactive updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and issues.
* Capture and escalate customer feedback to help shape service improvements.
* Foster strong cross-team communication and collaboration.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Experience of managing a team and driving operational improvements
* Experience in IT support, refurbishment, logistics, or technical field services.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
* Willing and able to travel internationally; valid passport required.
* Physically capable of manual handling (training provided).
* Full UK driving licence; comfortable with commercial vehicle operation.
* Working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets for reporting. (Desirable)
* Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) or vocational training. (Desirable)
* Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience. (Desirable)
* Strong technical knowledge of IT hardware (PCs, laptops, peripherals). (Desirable)
