Note: this role will involve 4 days a week on-site, with 1 working from home. Candidates for this role must hold an active UK security clearance to a high government standard.
The role
The platform engineer will support our data team by developing and maintaining the data stack in a Linux environment, ensuring platforms and applications meet secure by design requirements. The ideal candidate will have worked in a security cleared environment previously and will work with the wider team on advising the design and delivery of wider systems.

Core Responsibilities
* Securely design, develop and maintain infrastructure, applications and devices following industry best practices
* Deployment and uptime of cloud services
* Updating security, software, dependencies, libraries etc
* Set up and maintain Spark Clusters on current platforms, migrating to new platforms
* Manage user accounts and permissions across IdP
* Ensure secure by design assurance across the platform
What we are looking for
* Experience using common serverless AWS cloud services
* Experience building and maintaining bespoke Docker containers.
* Experience with monitoring tools for tracking system performance
* Experience with air-gapped networks and Linux administration.
* Knowledge of security, encryption, and compliance standards for AS networks.
* Strong experience in CLI tools and writing scripts in Python and/or Bash to automate routine tasks and manage deployments.
