Location: Cheltenham – Hybrid (2 days on‑site per week)
Salary: Up to ÂŁ70,000 + enhanced pension & benefits

Our client, a leading organisation in the technology and services sector, is seeking an experienced M365 Engineer with a specialism in Identity & Access Management (IDAM). This position plays a key role within the Infrastructure Engineering team, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable identity solutions across the Microsoft 365 environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a technically progressive environment, delivering identity and access controls that underpin a modern workplace.
What you’ll do
* Manage and optimise IDAM systems across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
* Implement and maintain identity provisioning, authentication, and access control policies
* Oversee user access, permissions, and compliance with security frameworks
* Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Conditional Access policies
* Support MFA, SSO, and password management solutions
* Monitor for and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and audit requirements
* Collaborate with IT infrastructure and cyber teams to enhance identity and access management capabilities
* Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to ongoing process improvement
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in IDAM engineering, ideally within Microsoft 365 and Azure AD environments
* Hands‑on expertise with SSO, MFA, and related identity technologies
* Strong understanding of access control frameworks and compliance standards
* Familiarity with tools such as Azure AD, Okta, or Ping Identity
* Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with a proactive, analytical mindset
* Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft security/identity) advantageous
The ideal candidate will be a technically strong engineer who thrives in a collaborative, security‑focused environment, comfortable balancing operational support with strategic improvement of IDAM capabilities.
