The purpose of this post is to ensure provision of sufficient high‑quality clinical placements for all pre‑registration allied health professions (AHPs) within the Trust, representing 9 professions currently working in ESHT. By achieving sufficient high‑quality placements this post will enable safe, effective, compassionate care to be delivered by student AHPs and ensure a sustainable AHP workforce that can meet changing needs in ESHT – Acute and Community Trust.
The role will support managers and Professional Development Leads and it will act as a link between the Trust and Higher Education Institute (HEI) and the Sussex integrated care service AHP Faculty. The role will scope AHP practice education and work with colleagues to explore new ways of expanding AHP placements including digital and virtual solutions and the use of CLiP coaching model (Collaborative Learning in Practice). The post holder will support colleagues within the placement setting, ensuring they are supported and prepared within their role.
The post will promote AHP placements in the trust and support MDT working from within Integrated Education.
Main duties of the job
Scoping AHP practice education and work with colleagues to explore new ways of expanding AHP placements including, digital and virtual solutions and the use of CLiP coaching model (Collaborative Learning in Practice).
The post holder will support colleagues within the placement setting, ensuring they are supported, prepared within their role, facilitating relationships between the trust and the Health Educational Institutes.
Acting as a role model and mentor to support the delivery of a high‑quality evidence‑based learning environment which meets the needs of the students and meets the requirements of NHSE.
Support the management of distressing circumstances relating to students and trainees and mentors (i.e. post serious incidents and complaints). Contribute to policy and practice changes arising from e.g. national policy and guidance, audits, quality assurance reviews and complaints.
Be responsible for quality monitoring of placement activity in relation to professional bodies and reporting required data to AHP student administrator. Liaise with HEIs regarding learning placements audits, and other quality audits as appropriate.

Qualifications
* Degree in AHP profession
* Health Professions Council Registered
* Evidence of continued professional development to Masters level or equivalent experience in practice
* Teaching qualification or working towards attaining a teaching qualification
Experience
* 3 years post graduate registered AHP
* Experience of developing and appraising staff
* Experience leading student placements, and scoring performance
* 3 years experience within area of speciality
* Experience of Service Development
* Experience within acute and community settings
