2026 Procurement Apprentice – Modern Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 6)
Start Date: 07 September 2026 Salary: £24,000 per annum Employee Type: Permanent Location: Glasgow Working Schedule: 37 hours a week (Monday‑Thursday 8h, Friday 5h)

Role Description
As an Apprentice Tactical Buyer you will be a valued member of our UK centralised procurement team. You will gain essential experience in tactical buying, negotiation, and supplier relationship management, creating and managing purchase orders, solving day‑to‑day supply‑chain challenges and delivering excellent service to internal customers. Working closely with colleagues across functions, you will develop contract administration, risk awareness, and promote ethical and sustainable procurement.
Apprenticeship Programme
The role is part of a Modern Apprenticeship in Procurement delivered over 2 years through City of Glasgow College. The first year is workplace based and the second year includes on‑campus delivery of CIPS modules. Upon completion you will achieve a CIPS Level 2 qualification, with support to progress to a CIPS Level 4 Procurement Diploma.
Requirements
* 2 Highers (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
* 5 National 5s (A‑C), including English and Maths.
* Resident in Scotland on or before 1 August 2026 and for the duration of the programme.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of our work, all roles are subject to security restrictions. Successful candidates must possess the permanent right to work in the UK, undergo a Government Security Clearance at BPSS Level and obtain full Security Clearance (SC) in line with UKSV requirements prior to starting. SC Clearance is required; it is a plus if already held.
