Job Description
Home-based covering Ealing and Hounslow.
We are seeking a full-time or part-time social worker for our out-of-hours Emergency Duty Team; hours to be negotiated and flexible.
The Ealing Emergency Duty Team (EDT) requires a social worker with current approved mental health practitioner (AMHP) status to respond to urgent social care enquiries for Ealing and Hounslow boroughs.
The team covers children’s, adults’, and mental health divisions of both Ealing and Hounslow social services. It responds to all emergency out-of-hours social work referrals during evenings, overnight, weekends, and public holidays, where emergency intervention is required to safeguard vulnerable children and adults.
The team is well integrated within Children’s Services with opportunities for training and development. It benefits from managerial support and a collaborative environment with peers and partner teams.
You must have current AMHP status, a working knowledge of legislation for vulnerable children and adults, and the ability to benefit from further training. You should be practiced in effective interventions both face-to-face and remotely. Excellent communication skills and creative, autonomous thinking are essential to achieve positive outcomes.
For an informal discussion, contact Rachel Isidore, Emergency Duty Team manager, at 07866 057 372 or via email: IsidoreR@ealing.gov.uk.
Ealing Council is committed to equality, diversity, and safeguarding. All applications are assessed on merit, and the post is subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring check.
