Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice Cellular Network Field Engineer to join their team in Cannock, Staffordshire. The Level 4 Cellular Network Field Engineer apprenticeship programme that we are offering, will allow you to kick-start your career in an industry that is constantly evolving, dynamic and transformational. The Position Job Title: Apprentice Cellular Network Field Engineer Apprenticeship Course: Level 4 Cellular Network Field Engineer Apprenticeship Duration: 36 months Location: Cannock, Staffordshire – national travel may be required. Working Hours: Full Time Salary: £18,000 per annum, increasing with experience. About the Role: This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to learn hands-on technical skills in the fast-growing telecoms industry. Working as part of a specialist team, you’ll help install, maintain, and test electrical and rigging systems used on mobile phone towers and telecom sites. You’ll gain experience in both rigging (climbing and working safely at heights to install antennas and equipment) and electrical engineering (supporting power installations, testing, and commissioning). Training and supervision will be provided by experienced team members to help you become a competent and confident field engineer. Your Responsibilities: Assist with installing, maintaining, and testing telecoms equipment on towers and rooftops. Support lead engineers and riggers in completing builds according to project drawings and safety standards. Learn to follow method statements, risk assessments, and site safety rules (RAMS). Help with preparing and maintaining equipment, tools, and PPE. Take part in electrical installations under supervision — including DC power systems and basic electrical testing. Assist in completing work documentation, handover packs, and quality checks. Keep accurate records of work completed and report progress to your supervisor. Maintain high standards of safety, teamwork, and professionalism at all times. Travel to different sites as part of your learning experience (some overnight stays may be required). What You’ll Learn Working safely at height and using fall-arrest equipment. Understanding of telecoms rigging and antenna systems. Basic electrical principles, testing, and certification. Health & Safety, RF awareness, and first aid at height. Reading and following technical drawings. Quality assurance and environmental awareness. Comfortable working outdoors and at height. Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions. Reliable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated. Basic computer and communication skills. Full Clean UK driving licence Desirable: Basic electrical or engineering knowledge. Previous hands-on or technical Eligibility Criteria Individuals must have a valid and eligible residency status to apply for this role.
