Commercial Officer – 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Responsible for end‑to‑end management of high‑value “By the Hours” service contracts, supporting the wider Commercial and Support Services functions at Airbus Helicopters UK.
Responsibilities
* Lead the execution and close‑out of “By the Hours” contracts, drafting service offers and contracts.
* Act as commercial point of contact, negotiating and executing contract amendments and change orders.
* Monitor contractual terms, manage pricing renewal to secure profitability and track aircraft flying rates.
* Report on contractual performance to the AHUK Leadership Team, analysing key metrics such as schedule, profit and risk.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of Commercial and Contract Management methodology within AHUK.
* Flexibly support wider Support & Services function and other Offers and Commercial Managers as business priorities require.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace Management or related field.
* Proven experience in a commercial, contract management or related business role, demonstrating strong commercial acumen.
* Experience supporting contract negotiations and adeptness at financial analysis, business case development and managing contract profitability.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, building robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Highly organised, meticulous attention to detail, managing multiple contracts simultaneously and prioritising effectively.
* Proactive, flexible, “can‑do” attitude, identifying commercial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Broad understanding of the global aviation/aerospace industry or another high‑value, complex engineering sector.
* Strong understanding of contract law and its practical application.
