Description Costain have been appointed by United Utilities as one of 7 partners to the Enterprise, delivering £5.5bn of projects in the Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) between 2025 – 2030, and AMP 9 (2030 – 2035). Our scope is to provide project management, design, construction and commissioning services on design and build schemes throughout the North West and Cumbria region covered by United Utilities. Projects vary in value, covering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets on water and wastewater sites with wider Enterprise partners. This key role will work within the Engineering survey and monitoring teams, providing geospatial related support to the wider delivery team and third parties. Responsibilities Responsibilities Undertake land surveying and carry out supervised and unsupervised field work. Aware of the latest setting out techniques and have an understanding of the latest survey related kit and equipment. Produce good quality QA records for all surveying work. Regularly communicate with other site disciplines. Carry out recorded monitoring exercises. Process and present topographical surveys. Carry out pre pour surveys to comply with ITP systems (Quality control) Carry out and present as-built surveys. Understand drawings and other electronic design information. Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control networks. Have an awareness of the latest advancements in surveying technology including GPS laser scanners and photogrammetry. Display an understanding with regard to surveying equipment and its cost. Have a general understanding of water works, surveying, methods and software. Survey related software / hardware Qualifications Essential CSCS Full UK Driving licence Desirable Degree in surveying and mapping or equivalent NVQ Level 3 Working towards professional membership LI-JA1
