Salary, Hours and Benefits
* £38,000 - £45,000
* Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
* 31 days holiday which rise with service

Candidate Requirements
* A strong grounding in measurement science, calibration practices, and the use of precision instrumentation
* Understanding and experience within structured quality environments, ideally aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 or similar frameworks
* Comfortable carrying out uncertainty evaluations, with practical experience applying GUM-based methods
* Experience using calibration or laboratory management systems and confidently interpreting and working with technical data
* Logical problem‑solving with a methodical and analytical mindset
* Confidence operating independently, including representing the business at both company and customer sites
* Clear communication, strong organisational skills, proficiency with standard IT tools and systems; proactive, adaptable, professional presentation, and motivated to develop skills further
* Prior experience leading or guiding others is a strong advantage
Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Calibration in managing day‑to‑day laboratory operations and team performance
* Plan and prioritise workflow to ensure efficient delivery of a high‑quality, cost‑effective calibration service
* Carry out and lead calibration activities across mechanical and dimensional instrumentation, including method development and validation
* Ensure full compliance with internal procedures, maintaining traceability to international standards and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
* Review and authorise calibration certificates, investigate non‑conformances, and implement corrective actions where required
* Provide technical leadership in dimensional metrology, including uncertainty analysis and maintenance of uncertainty budgets
* Mentor staff, support audit activities, and help maintain laboratory systems, equipment, and environmental controls to ensure optimal performance
