Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Ollerton. Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for candidates who hold a full UK Drivers Licence.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Full time and Part time contracts are available. We can accommodate shifts for those looking for weekend work only. Just let us know what you are looking for.
Example of shift times are 07:00 am – 14:30 pm, 14:30 pm – 22:00 pm and then waking nights/sleep ins 22:00 pm – 07:00 am. Our Rotas are organised 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your social life well ahead.
No experience is required but we are looking for people who share our values which are

Our Service & The People We Support
Are you a person who likes variety in their work, knowing each day will be different to the last. Here at Ollerton that is the case. We support three females and three males who all social butterflies and love to be busy.
The people we support at Ollerton live in a bungalow and require 24-hour care. The individuals we support choose a range of activities they enjoy being involved in. Some typical examples are
6. Local days out to popular parks and restaurants
7. Going to the theatre
8. Swimming
9. Day trips to different locations such as seaside, theme parks, zoo’s, farms and lots more
10. Film days
11. Arts and Crafts
12. Baking
The bungalow has a games room which includes a pool table with other games and activities they enjoy doing together. There is also a large garden which is made use of. In the Summer BBQ’s are a favourite.
What does a Support Worker do?
If you choose to work at Mencap, you will be involved in the day to day lives of the people that we support. You will need to provide an outstanding service that enables a more comfortable, dignified and happy life for the people we support. Click here to find out more! Typical duties may include:
13. Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day - assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
14. Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking healthy meals.
15. Excellent communication skills/relationship building – supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
16. Community & Social Inclusion- supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
