Governance Officer Role Title: Governance Officer Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday Salary: £33,404 - £41,755 per annum Contract: Permanent Location: Dartford / Agile- 3 days a week minimum in the office is required As our Governance Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the effective operation of our Board and committees. From preparing agendas and taking accurate minutes, to maintaining statutory records and monitoring compliance across key legislative frameworks – you’ll be a vital part of keeping our governance processes running smoothly. You’ll work across all areas of the business to ensure we meet our regulatory obligations, provide assurance to senior leadership, and uphold strong corporate governance across Moat and its subsidiaries. What you'll be doing Provide full secretariat support to the Board, sub-committees and working groups, including agendas, top quality minutes, matters arising and helping to produce Board and Committee reports. Support with governance documentation, statutory filings, registers and regulatory requirements (Companies House, HMRC, Regulator of Social Housing, FCA). Assist in the management and monitoring of compliance, including Data Protection, Whistleblowing, Bribery, Money Laundering and Consumer Credit. Provide project support to the Chief Executive and cover for the Executive Assistant where required. Maintain company registers and act as the main contact for sealing and legal document management. Looking after our Board members, including organising induction, training and processing expenses. We’re looking for someone with: Experience in administration and governance within housing or legal settings. Excellent organisational skills and minute-taking ability. Strong written and verbal communication. A good understanding of regulatory and governance requirements for housing associations. Awareness of key legal frameworks, including the Data Protection Act. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook. A relevant qualification (such as ISCA) or willingness to work towards one. Why join us?
