Directly Responsible to: Senior Cook
Hours of Duty: 25 hours per week (5 hours per day 9.00am - 2.00pm)

Qualifications Required: Must possess or be able to undertake and obtain Basic Food Hygiene Certificate within 6 months of appointment to the post.
* Assisting and supporting the Senior Cook in the efficient and effective operation of a quality school catering service to achieve set standards.
* Food preparation and cooking activities including the preparation, and serving of meals and beverages and the organisation of service points.
* Responsibility for monitoring and maintaining portion control.
* To assist the Senior Cook in the marketing of the catering service.
* To deputise for the Senior Cook in his/her absence ensuring that a quality catering service is maintained.
* To assist in the maintenance of a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety in the kitchen and associated areas.
* To assist the Senior Cook in the maintenance of the HACCP system and documentation, ensuring that this is maintained in his/hers absence.
* General kitchen and dining room activities.
