Systems Analyst/Programmer

To maintain and develop systems and applications within the Blood Sciences Laboratories under the guidance of the Biochemistry Laboratory Manager and Senior Analyst/Programmer.
Members of the LIMS IT Support team provide user and system support, covering the diagnostic laboratories of OUH. Liaising further afield with colleagues across the South 4 Pathology Partnership. The post holder will play a supporting role within the structure to ensure service continuity and development.
The post-holders will be self‑motivated team players with a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and a methodical approach to tasks. As members of the team they will demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
Main duties of the job
This includes:
* Day to day support of the Winpath Enterprise (WPE) laboratory system.
* Provide on‑call system support to maintain laboratory operational capability 24/7 across multiple departments.
* Work closely with the EPR team to manage changes in WPE and EPR.
* Assist with statistical analysis, data collection, and audit support.
* Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory IT systems.
* Maintain knowledge of SQL language development.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience and Knowledge
* Knowledge of SQL and messaging.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
* Experience with laboratory and hospital EPR systems.
* Experience with GP electronic ordering systems.
