We are looking to add a committed and caring healthcare assistant to our team.
As a healthcare assistant, you will attend team meetings, act as a liaison with service managers, keep families informed about their relative’s improvement by producing reports, and utilize strong communication skills. You will also take pleasure in applying organisational abilities to improve care outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Help clients with everyday tasks such as writing letters, paying bills, and obtaining benefits.
* Collaborate with expert personnel to implement care plans.
* Perform household chores, including cooking and light cleaning.
* Develop activities to engage clients.
* Serve food to clients and assist with feeding when necessary.
* Assist clients with dressing, undressing, washing, using the loo, and other personal care tasks.
* Assume accountability for the shift and the services provided while on duty.
* Supervise and monitor home caretakers and carers.
* React to crises and provide direction and assistance to carers.
Obligations
* Help patients with personal hygiene activities like dressing, grooming, and bathing.
* Assist patients with movement and physical activities while ensuring safety.
* Assist with feeding and meal preparation while monitoring dietary needs.
* Maintain thorough records of patient care and notify medical staff of any changes in condition.
* Collaborate with other medical specialists to implement patient-specific care plans.
* Offer emotional support and companionship to promote a positive atmosphere.
* Notify senior carers of any concerns about changes in health and support needs.
* Participate in client review processes with senior carers and stakeholders.
* Comprehend and enforce measures to protect clients from misuse.
* Report incidents or accidents in accordance with company policy and quality monitoring procedures.
* Assess infection risks and notify senior carers for further evaluation.
* Promote planned care and support by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
* Ensure that equipment supplied as part of the care plan is safe and appropriate.
* Administer medication in accordance with Healthrites Care Solutions policies and procedures.
* Receive regular updates and training to stay current on best practices for medication and treatment.
* Follow risk assessment procedures in compliance with Healthrites Care Solution rules and health and safety regulations.
* Report building, fixture, fitting, or equipment issues to the senior carer.
* Adhere to Healthrites Care Solutions' organisational structure and management.
* Access Healthrites Care Solutions' policies, procedures, and pertinent documentation.
* Obtain and act upon client approvals when required.
* Provide clients with information on national and local resources and services upon request.
* Attend staff meetings (at least four times a year) for program learning and support.
* Work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
* Communicate efficiently with clients, coworkers, and management.
Experience
* Prior experience working in a healthcare environment.
* Strong English communication skills for effective contact with patients and coworkers.
* Basic understanding of IT to utilise healthcare software and keep records.
* Familiarity with care plans and the ability to adhere to them accurately.
* A desire to learn; prior experience in home care or care facility is preferred but not required.
