A dedicated primary SEND school in Haywards Heath is seeking a SEND Support Worker to join their team. This specialist school caters for primary-aged boys with Autism and ADHD, offering a nurturing, structured, and supportive learning environment tailored to their individual needs.
The Role:
As a SEND Support Worker, you will provide 1:1 support for pupils, helping them engage with learning, regulate their emotions, and build positive relationships. You'll work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent, person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism and/or ADHD
Implement personalised strategies to manage behaviour and support engagement
Foster emotional regulation and social interaction skills
Be a strong, calm, and positive role model
Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team
Requirements:
Experience supporting children with Autism and/or ADHD (school or care settings)
A nurturing, patient, and resilient nature
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
