Behaviour Mentor Location: Blackburn with Darwen Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 3:20pm Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour Start Date: ASAP We are currently seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils within a secondary Alternative Provision based in Blackburn with Darwen. This role is ideal for someone with experience in behaviour management, youth work, or working as a Teaching Assistant, who is confident in building strong relationships with pupils and managing challenging behaviours effectively. Key Responsibilities: Supporting students as a General Teaching Assistant across the school day Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement Working closely with teaching staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development The ideal candidate will: Have experience working with young people with behavioural or additional needs Be confident, patient, and resilient Have a good sense of humour and a proactive, team-focused attitude Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people This is a rewarding opportunity to join a supportive team and make a genuine impact in an alternative education setting.
