Senior Technical Business Analyst
Location: Remote (UK-based, occasional office travel required)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + bonus + benefits
The Opportunity
We are working with a growing UK-based financial services organisation that is investing heavily in its internal technology platforms. With a strong focus on modernising traditional processes and scaling their systems for external use, they are looking to hire a Senior Technical Business Analyst to support ongoing platform development.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality solutions are designed and delivered effectively.
The Role
You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring requirements are clearly understood, well‑defined, and effectively implemented.
This role involves continuous collaboration with developers, rather than a traditional ‘handover’ style of analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Elicit and analyse business requirements, focusing on underlying problems and outcomes
* Challenge assumptions and ensure solutions align with business value
* Break down requirements into clear, deliverable user stories and specifications
* Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies early in the process
* Work closely with development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
* Facilitate collaborative sessions between business and technical stakeholders
* Support API and integration design by reviewing technical documentation
* Validate delivered solutions against agreed requirements
* Communicate progress, risks, and trade‑offs to stakeholders
Skills & Experience Required
Technical
* Experience working with APIs (REST, JSON, etc.)
* Ability to interpret technical documentation and integration requirements
* Strong SQL skills for data interrogation and validation
* Understanding of data structures and relational databases
* Experience working in agile delivery environments
Business Analysis
* Proven experience in a Business Analyst role within a technology‑driven environment
* Strong documentation skills (user stories, acceptance criteria, process mapping)
* Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
Communication
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
* Comfortable working in collaborative, cross‑functional teams
* Experience working with distributed teams is beneficial

* Hands‑on and detail‑oriented
* Comfortable working closely with engineers on a day‑to‑day basis
* Confident in challenging ideas constructively
* Adaptable communication style
* Motivated by delivery and problem‑solving rather than people management
