As a Performance Engineer who will help drive the Performance Test strategy and QE ways of working across Asda Technology. The role will work closely with various stakeholders such as; engineers, architects and support teams and has a 50/50 split for hands on /hands off.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support defining and delivering the Performance Test Strategy
2. Guide and mentor teams, driving best practice
3. Carry out proof of concepts on new Tools/Technologies
4. Work with third-party vendors and internal squads to embed QE practices into the SDLC and enable early performance testing
5. Support in resolving technical challenges faced by project/product teams
6. Refine NFR’s where needed and contribute to the wider NFR gathering process
7. Support creating new ways of working/processes as we move into our new operating model
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who can lead a small team to drive change and standards across all of Asda Technology.
You’ll likely have:
8. Experience using and managing a variety of Performance Test Tools, such as LoadRunner, JMeter & K6
9. Experience troubleshooting performance and scalability issues in both Production and Non-Production environments
10. Experience working with Cloud technologies (ideally Microsoft Azure)
11. Hands on use of monitoring and observability tools such as Application Insights and New Relic
12. Experience with various query languages such as SQL, KQL, Lucene, NRQL to analyse logs and metrics for modelling and troubleshooting would be beneficial
13. Knowledge of testing in differing SDLC models and Shift Left principles
14. Strong communication and leadership skills
