What we do.

Electric Car Leasing.

Why we do it.

Greener. Fairer. Future.

We are a market-leading, mission-driven organisation focused on accelerating the transition to a net-zero economy through innovative financing solutions.

As we enter a significant period of growth, we are scaling our Capital Markets team to support our increasingly sophisticated funding requirements.

We are open to recent graduates for this position who can demonstrate relevant interest and experience in finance.

This is a high-growth opportunity for an analytical professional looking to build a career in Capital Markets. Joining as an Analyst, you will gain hands‑on exposure to complex debt facilities and see the full lifecycle of a securitisation facility. You won't just be processing data; you will be learning how to structure and manage the capital that fuels a rapidly expanding leasing business.

What you’ll do

* In this role, you will be the analytical engine of the team, supporting the senior members of the team and helping ensure our funding facilities are optimised.
* Securitisation & public ABS Learning: Support the management of our securitisation facilities, including the transition to public markets. This will involve helping with both rating agency and investor engagement (answering due diligence questions, analysing performance data, etc.)
* Technical Analysis: Financial modelling, market analysis and manipulating large and at times complex data sets.
* Transaction Reporting: Help with the delivery of the sophisticated reporting requirements of our funders, focusing on asset performance and forecasting, including helping monitor transaction trigger levels.
* Stakeholder Deliverables: Handle ad‑hoc data/information requests and prepare high‑quality spreadsheets and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with the broader team to ensure capital markets activities directly support the company’s overall growth agenda.

What you’ll need

* A degree in Finance or related discipline.
* A recent graduate or some professional experience: 1 year in a finance or data‑centric role (Capital Markets, Banking or Debt Advisory preferable but not a hard requirement) with an interest in securitisation.
* Analytical Mindset: Be highly numerate with the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, professional spreadsheets and presentations.
* Technical Aptitude: Possess strong data skills; you are an expert in spreadsheets and have a basic understanding of SQL to query and manage large‑scale data.
* Proactivity & Learning: Be a self‑driven "problem‑solver" with a deep willingness to learn new financial structures and speak to individuals across the business to help problem solve, in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
* Communication: Present technical financial analysis to internal stakeholders.
* Mission Focus: Be genuinely motivated to apply your financial and technical skillset to play an important role in the Capital Markets team and help fund a business tackling climate change.

Why else you’ll love it here

* Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it is something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. We don’t advertise it publicly because we have flexibility and don’t want salary to be a reason you don’t apply.
* Octopus Energy Group is a unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co‑owners, on projects that break new ground. We want your hard work to be rewarded with perks you actually care about! Visit our perks hub – Octopus Employee Benefits.
* Octopus Electric Vehicles, part of the Octopus Energy Group, won the Sunday Times best company to work for in 2024. We were named 6th out of the top 100 start‑ups to work for by Tempo in 2025 and on Glassdoor we were voted 50 best places to work in 2022. Our Group CEO, Greg, recorded a podcast about our culture and how we empower our people. We’ve also been placed in the top 10 companies for senior leadership.
* P.s. just to let you know, we are a dog‑friendly company so you may see our four‑legged friends in the offices – feel free to bring yours! Rest assured we have taken precautions for allergies.
