Job Opportunities: Locum Doctor (General Practitioner) – Ministry of Defence
We are looking for a Locum Doctor (General Practitioner) with MoD Experience to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at York Imphal Medical Centre, in York, North Yorkshire.
This is a locum role (30 hours per week). The successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.
Pay Rates:
PAYE – £60.10 per hour
Self‑employed – £69.12 per hour
Responsibilities
* Undertake Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for Military and entitled personnel.
* Examinations and Occupational Health (OH) fitness for work assessments within the locum doctor’s scope of experience and qualification.
* Inform the local medical authority of any case that may affect a serviceperson’s ability to undertake their duties.
* Complete reports and documentation in accordance with MOD policy or the requirements of any other government department.
* Attend individual management reviews or case conferences with Primary Healthcare (PHC) and/or line management as required.
Essential Requirements / Qualifications / Experience
* Registration with the General Medical Council on the main register and the GMC GP Register without restrictions.
* Current, satisfactory in‑date annual appraisal in line with the General Medical Council’s Good Medical Practice (GMP).
* In‑date certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults, up to and including Level 3 training.
* Previous Ministry of Defence (MOD) Experience.
* Authorization to be on the UK NHS Performers List with a valid NHS Performer number.
