Band E Part Time Permanent 31.70 Working Hours – 39 Weeks per Year Required from 23 February 2026 We are seeking a committed, compassionate, and resilient Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join our dedicated team at Elleray Park School. We are a nurturing and inclusive primary special school for pupils with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will work alongside teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, communication needs, and sensory or physical disabilities. The successful applicant will provide support pupils as part of a team to meet their learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. Support pupils with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility (training provided). Use specialist strategies, communication systems such as PECS, and assistive technology to promote pupil engagement and independence. Work closely with class teachers to implement EHCP targets and differentiated lesson plans. Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using school policies and de-escalation strategies. Maintain a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment. Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation. Elleray Park School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to: Adhere to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures at all times. Report concerns promptly in accordance with safeguarding and child protection guidelines. Undergo enhanced DBS clearance and provide satisfactory references. Complete mandatory safeguarding and child protection training. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with complex SEND (desirable but not essential), a relevant Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, strong interpersonal and communication skills, patience, empathy and a positive attitude, a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a willingness to undertake further training, including in Team Teach or other positive handling approaches. Will will offer a welcoming and supportive school community, opportunities for ongoing professional development, a chance to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs and access to staff wellbeing support and training.
