Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure a consistent IT support service is delivered to the site, establish and maintain high-quality learning facilities, and assist in planning their future development.
2. Provide overall responsibility for CTS's IT service at the site as Network Manager, including advanced troubleshooting, maintaining service levels, identifying system issues, and escalating unresolved problems.
3. Provide detailed specialist advice and guidance on IT requirements to the client.
4. Collaborate with CTS Account Managers to highlight system updates and improvements aligned with the site’s long-term plans and strategies.
5. Oversee training and up-skilling of CTS staff on site.
6. Prioritize staff workloads, mentor, advise, and train junior staff on working practices and procedures.
7. Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) technical information suited to the audience.
8. Manage and implement work programs under senior staff guidance.
9. Comply with policies on child protection, safeguarding, health, safety, security, and confidentiality, reporting concerns appropriately.
10. Set up and check hardware and software for normal operation.
11. Build and configure networked PCs, including standalone setups or via image deployment.
12. Perform maintenance on user accounts, site servers, and cloud platforms.
13. Maintain a solid understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 administration.
14. Ensure helpdesk tickets are updated and resolved promptly in line with SLAs.
15. Manage active network components, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
16. Follow disaster recovery and maintenance plans.
17. Maintain and review site system contingency plans with the team.
18. Test site backup and malware protection procedures as instructed.
19. Work with the Senior Engineer to design and implement network infrastructure to meet client/site requirements.
20. Potentially participate in project teams during holidays under guidance.
Qualifications and Skills:
* GCSE Grade 5 or above in Maths and English.
* A-Level, BTEC, NVQ, or T-Level in a relevant subject.
* Industry qualifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, Aruba, or Apple are preferred.
* 3-4 years of experience in an IT support environment.
* Strong understanding of wired and wireless networks and devices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential.
* Technical troubleshooting and problem management skills.
* Interpersonal skills to assist non-technical users.
* Ability to assess and re-prioritize workloads as circumstances demand.
* Initiative-taking ability.
