Teacher / Tutor – Alternative Provision
Huddersfield
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required are QTS / QTLS and recent UK-based teaching experience within a school, college, or AP setting. References from these roles are necessary.
The Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher (from any sector) to join this alternative provision as a teacher or tutor. (QTS and QTLS considered)
We seek a practitioner with presence and confidence, passionate about working with learners facing social, emotional, mental health, or educational challenges.
You will have an aspirational mindset, with the autonomy to tailor your curriculum to your students' needs and interests, and the confidence to do so.
The successful Teacher / Tutor can use creativity to develop engaging learning experiences for small groups and enjoy a good work/life balance.
This is initially a temporary role with the possibility of becoming permanent or a 1-year fixed-term contract.
The School
The role involves working with Key Stage 4 students, supported by a team including an Inclusion Worker and Teaching Assistant.
Building positive relationships with staff across roles is vital for a positive culture and smooth operations. The school offers a sustainable work-life balance and opportunities for career development in a specialist setting, appealing to teachers who prefer working with smaller groups.
Responsibilities include curriculum planning, delivery, assessment, recording, and maintaining a cohesive team.

* Be an experienced teacher/tutor; this role is not suitable for ECTs.
* Provide valid references from previous roles.
* Hold or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check registered with the Update Service.
