Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of this dynamic piling and ground civil engineering specialist. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in cost management, contractual administration, and commercial control across a diverse portfolio of piling and civil engineering projects nationwide. Key Responsibilities * Prepare cost estimates and detailed bills of quantities for piling and foundation scope packages. * Analyse tender documentation, drawings and specifications to produce accurate commercial submissions. * Assist with the preparation and submission of competitive tenders and proposals in line with company strategy. * Monitor contract costs, valuations, variations, valuations and progress payment applications. * Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost control, forecasting and risk management throughout the project lifecycle. * Administer commercial aspects of contracts, including CDM, NEC, JCT or bespoke agreements as applicable. * Review subcontractor and supplier quotations, manage procurement and support negotiations where required. * Produce regular commercial reports, cash flow forecasts and cost plans for senior stakeholders. * Support senior commercial colleagues with contract close-out, claims preparation and settlement. Candidate Profile Essential: * Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in construction, civil engineering or groundworks (piling exposure preferred). * Working knowledge of cost planning, measurement, procurement and contract law/administration. * Proficient in commercial reporting, valuations, risk management and financial control. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships. * Strong attention to detail with commercial and analytical acumen. Desirable: * Experience working with NEC or JCT contracts. * Ability to interpret technical/geotechnical drawings and understand specialist piling workstreams. * Competent in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
