DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to play a vital role in ensuring the continuous development and execution of Health and Safety across the business.
What does the role entail?
* Provide day-to-day HSE support, guidance, and advice to the Operational Management Team and aligned functions to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory legislation, CAA guidance, and company standards.
* Support the implementation of HSE standardization and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with DHL and customer goals.
* Assist with developing, implementing, and communicating all relevant HSE policies at the station.
* Support the HSE Business Partner to drive engagement and foster a Just Culture / Safety Culture within the station.
* Drive and support the Safety First & Just Culture initiatives within your area of responsibility.
* Coordinate HSE activities on the site to support the HSE Business Partner.
* Monitor the accuracy and quality of incident management system data and analyze trends.
* Maintain the Safety Improvement Plan in a standardized format, including leading & lagging indicators.
* Undertake relevant Safety, Health, and Environment audits and develop action plans in line with Safety Arrangements and Divisional audit schedules, including Customer Base Line Audit activities.
* Assist in managing the site H&S committee.
* Manage the site Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work schedule in accordance with Safety Arrangements.
* Ensure timely completion of accident and incident investigations, and implement actions to prevent recurrence, including major incidents and motor activities; trace all actions through the SIP plan.
* Support applicable audits and monitor corrective action plans to meet corporate and customer requirements.
* Assist in managing claims.

* Exceptional understanding of all relevant H&S regulations applicable to warehouse environments.
* 1-2 years in a safety or operational role with safety accountability.
* Ability to engage with site and customer stakeholders.
* Keen eye for detail to identify root causes and enable continuous improvement.
* Able to communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally.
