Role overview
As a Proposals Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Sales and Projects teams by developing accurate, competitive, and technically robust proposals. You’ll work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to interpret requirements, build cost‑effective solutions, and ensure seamless handovers into project delivery.
The Role
Produce accurate project estimates, bill of materials, and cost build‑
Write technical and commercial clarifications as part of tender submissions.
Review existing proposals and highlight key selling points to support the Sales Team.
Interpret client enquiry documents and develop conceptual designs and formal tender responses to strict deadlines.
Review M&E specifications and scopes of supply to ensure compliance and clarity.
Provide ongoing technical clarifications throughout the tender lifecycle.
Support the Sales Team with technical input for proposals, consultant reports, and engine selection.
Prepare and review detailed contract handover files for the Projects Team.
Update internal database systems with communications and feedback.
Obtain compliant quotations from subcontractors and supply chain partners.
Ensure all work aligns with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 quality accreditations.About You
Strong technical understanding of mechanical/electrical systems (power generation experience is a bonus).
Confidence in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
Commercial awareness and problem‑solving ability.
A methodical approach with high attention to detail.
Excellent communicator, both in-person and over digital channels.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex requirements into clear, cost‑effective solutions.
