Contract hours: 37 hours. Location: 1 position at Newcastle College and 1 position at Stafford College. Salary: Scale points 11-20 (£26,878 - £32,291 per annum).

The group serves a population of over 6,500 full-time students, around 2,000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes, with over 1,500 apprentices and more than 850 employers. The Sixth Form provision has a reputation for high academic achievement and excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Education and Early Years department. The role involves placement, assessment and monitoring of students on T Level Education, Early Years and Teaching Assistant courses, and developing effective working relationships with a range of providers. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification and have substantial sector experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* To develop and maintain relationships with providers across a range of sectors who express an interest in providing placements.
* To screen potential placement providers to ensure they understand obligations regarding students and have appropriate health and safety, insurance and equal opportunities arrangements.
* To ensure placement providers can offer sufficient placement opportunities to develop students’ skills and demonstrate competency in all areas.
* To draw up individual placement plans for students and regularly review progress with the student and placement supervisor.
* To ensure all students receive a comprehensive induction from both the College and their placement.
* To carry out and record structured workplace observations to support learners in meeting course requirements and attaining a licence to practice.
Required Skills and Experience
* Holds a relevant qualification.
* Substantial experience working in an Early Years/Education setting.
* Holds English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
* Ability to approach and develop effective working relationships with a range of providers.
* Good administrative skills, well organised, with accurate and easily retrievable records.
* Holds a current driving licence and has use of a car.
* IT literate, with experience of MS Office software and databases.
