About the area
The Centre for Water and Spatial Science (CWSS) was formally launched in 2023 and is now a recognised key multidisciplinary research centre at The University of Western Australia (UWA). The CWSS team includes research academics, postdoctoral fellows and other research staff, and research higher degree (PhD) members, plus project partners. CWSS provides research leadership in water and spatial science in Western Australia. This position is critical to the goals of growing the centre as the preferred research partner at local, national and international levels. This position will provide administrative support of CWSS, and together with the Centre co-directors will form the Centre leadership team. This position will focus on supporting the delivery of flagship projects through the Centre for Water and Spatial Science at UWA.
About the opportunity
* You will work with the Centre Co-Directors to provide advice and direction for the Centre for Water and Spatial Science (CWSS) as part of the leadership team.
* Respond to diverse inquiries, utilising your expertise and judgment to independently analyse and solve problems.
* You will assist in implementing new initiatives to support more efficient Centre functions and help drive continued Centre growth. Your role will support project governance by providing administrative and logistical support to key centre initiatives and individual projects.
About you
* Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing nuanced Centre and project outputs tailored to a range of different audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, support and mentor junior staff.
* Substantial experience with web-design and other creative content skills to develop communications deliverables for the Centre and key projects.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to budgeting, long term planning, leading and delivering advice and direction as part of a leadership team.

* Some after-hours work may be required.
* Current “C” class driver’s licence is desirable
