Job Description
The Team
The Savings & Retirement Deal Pricing team is responsible for producing fees & premiums for clients in global markets, covering products across the bulk annuity market in Europe & North America, individual retirement products, and various savings & protection benefits. Transactions include funded deals, longevity swaps, and new business flow deals.
Key Responsibilities
* Focus on cashflow & capital modelling, ensuring products & risks are accurately captured in pricing, and producing deal metrics that meet pricing hurdles & governance standards.
* Collaborate with the client solutions team to optimize deal structures for strong commercial outcomes and efficient capital allocation.
* For funded deals, work with the S&R ALM and Investment teams to align investment strategies with liabilities and client needs.
* Handle pricing activities related to treaty execution and ensure smooth transition of information to the inforce management team.
The Role
Seeking a candidate with a strong technical actuarial or investment background to join the S&R Deal Pricing team and support its responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Manage existing pricing tools (Tyche models, Excel models), update and upgrade as needed.
* Identify and implement process improvements in pricing workflows.
* Understand macroeconomic assumptions (interest rates, credit spreads, FX) and interpret investment data from Bloomberg and investment teams.
* Analyze capital requirements across different regimes and structures.
* Work with the insurance pricing team to develop benefit structures and insurance bases.
* Monitor market conditions and translate changes into pricing adjustments, collaborating with asset management.
* Develop strategies to manage risks like currency and inflation in partnership with the client solutions team.
Qualifications & Experience
* Strong modeling skills, familiarity with actuarial models and pricing tools; experience in mortality or market risk modeling is advantageous.
* Recent qualified actuary, member of IFoA or SOA.
* Ability to critically review models, understand drivers of results, and communicate findings effectively.
* Experience working in dynamic team environments under high-pressure deadlines.
* Proficiency in Excel and actuarial software like Tyche.
* Understanding of market risks and their impact on insurance capital.
* Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
Additional Skills
* Knowledge of Pension Risk Transfer markets.
* Understanding of insurance balance sheets and capital regimes (IFRS, Solvency II, US GAAP, BMA).
* Programming skills in VBA and Tyche are a plus.
