About the Opportunity:
This is not a typical consultancy role; we are seeking someone who enjoys working collaboratively with technical and military colleagues to deliver practical, effective business solutions. The role also supports the development of a growing strategic consulting capability within Amentum and helps build our enterprise design and transformation knowledge base.
As an expert in enterprise design and transformation, you will provide day‑to‑day leadership within client projects, help maintain strong and trusting client relationships, and contribute directly to hands‑on delivery. You will act as a supportive and informed advisor to senior clients, offering guidance that helps shape their thinking and supports positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading and guiding teams through structured analysis and problem‑solving, including shaping problems, applying analytical techniques, synthesising findings, and identifying practical implications for clients.
2. Building trusted, positive relationships with clients, supporting business development activities, and contributing to knowledge‑sharing and capability development within the organisation.
3. Supporting project delivery through effective planning, task coordination, clear communication, and coaching team members to grow their skills.
4. Managing client engagement with confidence and clarity, including developing networks, presenting to senior audiences, and collaborating closely with clients on a day‑to‑day basis.
5. Communicating issues and solutions clearly and accessibly, both in written and verbal formats, in formal and informal settings.
6. Facilitating collaborative sessions to develop:
- Strategy development and problem‑solving approaches
- Operating model design
- Workflow and process design
- Job and role architecture
- Business case development
- Governance, risk, and compliance structures
- Transformation and change programmes.

Technical Competencies:
We are looking for candidates who bring relevant experience or qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
7. Enterprise Architecture (, TOGAF, NAF)
8. Organisational change management (, APMG, Prosci)
9. Strategy and operations, including business or management qualifications (, MBA)
10. Workforce planning and people capability development
11. Project or programme management (, APMQ, Agile)
12. Process mapping and improvement (, Lean Six Sigma)
13. Analytics and automation, including experience with data tools (, PowerBI, Power Automate).
Your Attributes and Experience:
14. At least 8–10 years’ relevant experience, ideally within strategy, engineering consulting, or similar environments.
15. Experience working within major programmes or within a Programme Management Office.
16. Strong understanding of defence, security, nuclear, or space sectors.
17. Experience leading teams and supporting clients in dynamic and time‑sensitive environments.
18. Ability to apply structured thinking and analytical approaches to complex challenges.
19. Interest in exploring information, identifying key patterns, and developing clear insights from complex data.
20. Comfortable taking initiative, learning new skills, and applying existing strengths to new contexts.
21. Strong communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders in a supportive and clear manner.
22. Degree from a recognised academic programme.
23. Willingness to travel as required.
