What Are We Looking for?
We're seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Team Leader to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Systems Engineering and QA. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the day-to-day management of Systems Engineering activities for the development and delivery of Air Traffic Control simulation products and services. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills, ensuring successful project delivery while continuously improving team quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, monitor, and control all operational and strategic activities of the Systems Engineering Team
Handle resourcing and task allocation for all Systems Team activities
Conduct regular one-to-one reviews with team members to set objectives and manage development plans
Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback to drive team growth
Identify and resolve capability or knowledge gaps within the team skill set
Technical Excellence
Analyse customer specifications to drive implementation and acceptance
Produce specifications, approve solutions, and provide technical guidance
Serve as subject matter expert for complex systems engineering challenges
Derive requirements on system components to fulfil customer needs
Prepare detailed requirements specifications to control software development and testing
Business Development & Innovation
Support Sales and Marketing with technical responses, compliancy responses, and estimations
Keep up to date with market and technological trends in ATC/ATM simulation
Drive a culture of continual improvement through lessons learned and best practices
Input to and oversee execution of Engineering plans for successful project acceptance
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System for Systems Engineering processes
Provide quality management information including KPIs for productivity, quality, and schedule adherence
Monitor and improve departmental activities and performance metrics
Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the team

Technical Requirements & Experience:
Degree level qualification or equivalent
10+ years' experience in Systems Engineering discipline
Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, processes, methods, and tools
Experience with requirements engineering and solution architecting
Deep understanding of ATC/ATM environment
Knowledge of complete Software Development Lifecycle (Agile and Waterfall)
Experience preparing detailed requirements specifications
Understanding of requirements management tools
Experience in software application development lifecycle and management
Strong MS Office skills and overall IT proficiency
Ability to travel overseas as required
Experience/knowledge of ATC operations, training, and general aviation
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and TickIT quality standards
Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
Knowledge of simulation and training systems
