Communications Engineer – VMMO Mission
The role is a communications engineer for the VMMO mission.
Responsible for the design, development, and validation of the spacecraft's communications subsystem, with a focus on the X‑band (and higher frequency) transponder enabling direct Earth‑Moon links. The role involves defining RF link budgets, selecting and integrating transponder hardware, ensuring compliance with CCSDS and ECSS standards, and supporting end‑to‑end system performance analysis. The engineer collaborates closely with payload, avionics, and ground segment teams to optimise antenna design, redundancy schemes, and radiation‑tolerant component selection, while overseeing test campaigns to verify transponder functionality from LEOP through lunar operations.
