We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Birmingham to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor, on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £14.99-£19.51/Hour Summary: The Personal Advisor supports care leavers aged 18-25, helping them transition successfully to independent adult life. This includes statutory responsibilities around pathway planning, advocacy, and coordination of multi-agency services. The role ensures young peoples rights and entitlements are upheld, their voices are heard, and they are supported to access accommodation, education, employment, and emotional support, helping them achieve their full potential as adults. Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of eligible, relevant, and former relevant care leavers. Co-develop and implement pathway plans tailored to individual needs and goals. Maintain regular, proactive contact with allocated young people. Offer advice and emotional support on issues such as housing, education, employment, benefits, health, and relationships. Liaise with internal and external agencies to ensure holistic, wraparound support. Requirements: A relevant qualification in social care, youth work, health, or a related field is advantageous but not strictly required. Must demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and attend relevant training. Experience: Experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally within leaving care or youth services. Good understanding of the legislative framework surrounding care leavers, including the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.
