About the role
We are looking for a Young Peoples’ Move‑On Coordinator to develop and deliver workshops and specialist support to professionals working with young people in homelessness services. The role enables young people to access a variety of long‑term "move‑on" accommodation options, raise awareness of available options for specific groups such as Care Leavers, Children in Care, homeless young people and Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children, engage with private landlords, registered providers and charities, and develop a model for self‑service into shared or self‑contained accommodation. The coordinator will work closely with Commissioners in Housing Options and Children’s Services and the Private Renting Team to create a fluid housing pathway for homeless young people.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and deliver workshops for professionals in homelessness services.
* Provide specialist support to enable young people to access long‑term accommodation options.
* Raise awareness of move‑on options for Care Leavers, Children in Care, homeless young people and Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children.
* Engage with private landlords, registered providers and charities to maximise available options.
* Develop and implement a model allowing young people to self‑serve into suitable accommodation.
* Work closely with Housing Options Commissioners, Children’s Services, and the Private Renting Team to create a fluid housing pathway.
* Travel to young‑people services throughout the city as required.
Qualifications and skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Willingness to travel to young‑people services across the city.
* Relevant experience in a similar role or within homelessness or housing services is desirable.
